Still cancer-free!

By Sheryl Jedlinski

Ten months since my last chemotherapy treatment and six months since my last CT scan, I remain cancer-free… an outcome that initially didn’t seem possible. When my surgeon called me with the results of my most recent test, I felt like I’d been given a last-minute stay of execution, or at the very least, a get out of jail free card. Making the news sweeter yet is that I will be present for the birth of our first grandchild, arriving any day now. And with my surgeon promising that we are running a marathon, not a sprint, I intend to be onhand to celebrate many future milestones in our granddaughter’s life as well.

To all of you who have stood by me through my wild journey with cancer, I thank you once again. Your caring and compassion helped see me through a very challenging time. I look forward now to sharing with you happy news of our growing family.

Can’t wait! Those prayers are working my dear friend! Other good news is that we will be able to shop, eat and cry together for an even longer time!
